Our approach

We don't manage numbers.
We find what's wrong.

Conventional medicine is built to name a disease and match it to a drug. Functional medicine asks a different question: why is this happening — and what will it take to fix it at the source?

The process

What working with us looks like

01

Listen to your whole story

Your first visit is 45–60 minutes. We review your full health history and every symptom — including the ones other doctors waved off.

02

Test, don't guess

Comprehensive functional labs: full thyroid panel, cortisol & hormones, food sensitivities, GI-barrier and microbiome markers, and key nutrients.

03

Find the root cause

We connect the dots across thyroid, gut, adrenal, and nutritional systems to find what's actually driving how you feel.

04

Build a realistic plan

A personalized roadmap — nutrition, targeted supplementation, and supportive therapies — designed around your life, not a one-size protocol.

What makes us different

The web of physiological dysfunction

Your symptoms rarely live in one system. Fatigue can come from the thyroid. The thyroid can be driven by the gut. The gut can be inflamed by food and infections. We map those connections instead of treating each symptom in isolation.

  • Whole-body, root-cause framework
  • Whole-food nutrition & targeted supplementation
  • Supportive healing therapies as part of a clinical plan
  • No rushed visits, no dismissals

Frequently asked questions

Is functional medicine a replacement for my doctor?

No. We complement your existing care. We're a root-cause second opinion focused on nutrition and the underlying drivers of chronic symptoms. We're not a substitute for emergency or specialist medical care, and we'll tell you when something needs a conventional physician.

Are Drs. Parker medical doctors or endocrinologists?

Drs. John and Alexa Parker are chiropractic physicians (D.C.) with 600+ post-graduate hours in functional neurology and functional nutrition, in practice in Tampa since 2004. We are not endocrinologists and do not have them on staff — we offer a functional, nutrition-based approach to the same conditions.

What kinds of testing do you use?

Comprehensive functional blood analysis, cortisol and hormone testing, autoimmune and food-sensitivity testing, and gut-barrier/microbiome assessment — chosen based on your symptoms and history.

How long until I feel better?

It varies. Functional medicine works with your body, so it takes time — but many patients notice meaningful change within the first several weeks. We're honest about what's realistic for your situation.
