Second opinion

Before you commit to a lifetime of medication

A diagnosis isn't always the end of the conversation. If you've been told you'll “be on this forever,” or that surgery is your only path, a root-cause second opinion can be worth it. Many of our patients have avoided lifelong medication and surgery by finding what was actually driving their condition.

Functional medicine second opinion consultation

What “second opinion” means here: a thorough, functional review of your history and labs to understand the why behind your diagnosis — focused on nutrition, the gut, thyroid, adrenals, and inflammation. We work alongside your existing physicians and are honest about what we can and can't help with.

When a second look helps

You may benefit if you've been told…

“Your labs are normal.”

…but you still feel exhausted, foggy, or unwell. We look deeper than a single in-range number.

“You'll be on this for life.”

…with no plan to address why you needed it. We look for the root cause behind the prescription.

“Surgery is the next step.”

…and you want to understand your options first. We help you make an informed decision.

Second opinion — common questions

Are you endocrinologists?

No — and we'll never pretend to be. Drs. John & Alexa Parker are chiropractic physicians with advanced functional-nutrition training. A second opinion here means a functional, root-cause perspective on your condition, working alongside your current doctors — not a replacement endocrinologist or surgeon.

Will you tell me to stop my medication?

Never. We don't start or stop prescriptions. We help uncover the underlying drivers of your condition so that you and your prescribing physician can make better-informed decisions about your care over time.

What conditions do people seek a second opinion for?

Most commonly thyroid and Hashimoto's, autoimmune conditions, chronic fatigue, gut disorders, and hormonal imbalance — especially when someone's been told to “just live with it,” stay on medication indefinitely, or consider surgery.
